Whether a pest inspection is required depends on the buyer’s lender’s requirements for the type of loan the buyer wants to obtain, and it can also fall under local or state guidelines. Regardless, if a pest inspection is ordered, either the seller or the buyer generally must pay for the pest report, whether the work is completed or not. How do you figure out which party pays for the pest inspection?
